The 47th URISA annual conference was held last week in Anaheim, CA. The theme of the conference this year was “Providing Solutions to Challenges” as today’s GIS professionals have to accomplish more with fewer resources and less support. Michael Lovett, GISP was the conference chair and did a great job with the other URISA volunteers offering a program with high level presentations, excellent training and network opportunities. This year, conference sponsors including local businesses and many GIS professionals actively volunteered with URISA. Claudia Paskauskas, MCSD, GISP was awarded with the Barbara Hirsh Special Service Award. Congratulations Central Florida for being actively contributing to the GIS profession!
